YIP is a key promoter of 'youth consultation'. In whatever YIP has to do, it ensures that young people are the ones that make the important decisions. For example, say the council wants an event organised and asks YIP to do so, YIP asks young people how they should go about it so they can get what they want, rather than what the council think they want. If you want to know what young people will be interested in, the best thing to do is ask them so their voices can be heard. YIP also ensures young people know what's going on by designing posters to draw attention to the events, and placing them in places that young people will see them, such as youth clubs and in Hype magazine.

It's the voice of young people that counts!
