Youthnetsouthampton is an initiative to enhance community cohesion throughout Southampton using Information Technology as a means of doing so. Over the past months multiple sites have opened, allowing communication between each of the different centres.

On offer to young people will be computer access sessions covering everything from basic computer and internet usage, up to basic webpage design. Each young person will be able to create their own webpage if they wish, and this will then be linked to from this website.

At the end of March 2003 the funding from the Government ceased, but Youthnetsouthampton had been such a success, doubling its initial user targets, that it continued to thrive as part of the proposal for a larger project, the Youth Involvement Project, which brings together Hype Magazine, Youthnetsouthampton, and Youth.Inc.
